Alsheimers (Alzimers) causes

Alsheimers disease is caused by changes in the nerve cells of the brain. These cells communicate with each other through impulses and this mechanism is what is destroyed in Alzimers disease.

Alzimers

Due to formation of scar tissue in the brain, the cells become isolated from each other during Alzheimers stages and the impulses can not get through properly. This can lead to a slow destruction of the brain. The brain can loose up to half of its weight during the process of Altzheimers disease.

Alsheimers - damages to signal substances

Altzheimers disease often affects large parts of the brain but some parts such as the memory center and the balance center is usually first affected. There are often damages to the cells that create the signal substance and these cells are located in the front part of the brain. Often, other signal substances are also affected. The parts with the lowest rate of damage are the motoric, hearing and visual centers which explains the symptoms of Altzeimers.

Alzimers causes - probably (part) hereditary

Altzheimers disease probably has several causes. The condition can very well be hereditary as nearly 25% of all patients have had a relative with Alzheimers. Patients with Downs syndrom (an extra chromosome 21) have a larger risk of developing Alzimers. The condition of Alzhimers has not been connected to any virus. Alzheimers summary.
